1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to fitfita's websites, waitlist, mobile and web applications, communications, and related services (collectively, the “Service”). fitfita (“fitfita,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is responsible for the personal information described in this policy.

Third-party websites and services linked from the Service have their own privacy practices. This policy does not cover information they process independently.

2. Information we collect

Information you provide

  • Contact and profile information, such as your email address, phone number, preferred language, optional gender, and activity interests.
  • Location information, such as a location you search for, a pin you place on a map, a location label, or precise coordinates you choose to share using your device.
  • Account and community information, such as a display name, profile details, group memberships, sessions, activities, messages, reports, and other content you submit when those features are available.
  • Communications, including waitlist submissions, support requests, survey responses, and feedback.

Information collected automatically

When you use the Service, we and our service providers may automatically receive device and usage information, including IP address, browser or device type, operating system, app version, referring pages, pages and features used, approximate location derived from IP, dates and times of access, identifiers, crash data, and diagnostic logs.

Information from others

We may receive information from other users, identity or sign-in providers you choose to use, map and location providers, app stores, analytics providers, and safety or anti-abuse partners. Other users may also include you in content or submit reports involving you.

3. How we use information

We use personal information to:

  • provide, personalize, maintain, and improve the Service;
  • match people by location, activity interests, availability, or preferences;
  • operate groups, activities, leaderboards, notifications, and community features;
  • manage the waitlist and tell you about matching activities or product availability;
  • authenticate users and protect accounts, users, and the Service from abuse or fraud;
  • respond to support requests and communicate service or policy updates;
  • measure performance, understand usage, troubleshoot, and develop new features;
  • comply with law, enforce our terms, and establish or defend legal claims; and
  • send marketing where permitted, subject to your right to opt out.

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on performance of our contract, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Service, your consent, and compliance with legal obligations, depending on the activity and your location.

4. Analytics, cookies, and similar technologies

We use cookies, local storage, pixels, software development kits, and similar technologies to keep the Service working, remember settings such as your language, protect the Service, and understand how it is used. Analytics providers may collect device and usage information and use identifiers to help us measure traffic, feature engagement, performance, and errors.

You can control cookies through your browser and, where provided, our consent controls. Mobile operating systems may also offer controls for device permissions and advertising identifiers. Blocking required storage may prevent parts of the Service from working. Where required by law, we will ask for consent before using non-essential analytics technologies.

5. How we share information

We may share information:

  • With other users, when you join groups, participate in activities, appear on leaderboards, publish content, or otherwise use social features. The Service will indicate what is visible before you share where practical.
  • With service providers, that help us with hosting, databases, maps and geocoding, analytics, communications, support, security, and similar operations. They may process information only for the services they provide to us.
  • For legal and safety reasons, when we reasonably believe disclosure is needed to comply with law, protect a person, investigate misuse, or protect rights and property.
  • In a business transaction, such as a financing, merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate safeguards.
  • With your direction or consent.

We do not sell your personal information for money. If our practices ever constitute “selling” or “sharing” under an applicable privacy law, we will provide the required notice and opt-out rights.

6. Location and public features

Location can reveal sensitive patterns. We use the location you submit to find relevant people and activities, display maps, and support safety and service operations. Your device asks for permission before sharing device-derived location, and you can change that permission in your device settings.

We do not make your precise location public by default. If a feature lets you share an activity location or route, review the audience and details before posting. Avoid sharing a home address or other sensitive place. Content you make public may be viewed, copied, or reshared by others.

7. Data retention

We keep personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above, including providing the Service, maintaining business and security records, resolving disputes, and meeting legal obligations. Retention depends on the type of information, why we collected it, account status, safety needs, and applicable law. We may retain de-identified or aggregated information that cannot reasonably identify you.

8. Your choices and privacy rights

  • You can decline optional profile fields and device permissions.
  • You can unsubscribe from marketing using the link in an email or by contacting us.
  • You can manage cookies and similar technologies as described above.
  • Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your information; object to or restrict certain processing; withdraw consent; or appeal a decision about a request.

To exercise a privacy right, use the contact method provided in the Service. We may need to verify your identity and may retain limited information about the request. You may use an authorized agent where local law permits. You also have the right to contact your local data protection authority, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights.

9. International data transfers

fitfita and its providers may process information in countries other than where you live. Those countries may have different data-protection laws. Where required, we use recognized safeguards for international transfers, such as contractual protections, or rely on another lawful transfer mechanism.

10. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. No system or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Protect your account credentials and notify us if you believe your account or information has been compromised.

11. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Some regions require a higher minimum age or parental consent. If you believe a child has provided personal information contrary to these requirements, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

12. Changes and contact

We may update this policy as the Service and law change. We will post the updated version here, change the “last updated” date, and provide additional notice when required. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date is subject to the updated policy.

For privacy questions or requests, contact fitfita through the support or contact channel made available in the Service. Please write “Privacy request” in your message and identify the country or region where you live.
